When Solar is Done Properly: Omnidian, GoodWe and AIKO Combine Technology and Ongoing Support for a Not-for-Profit Animal Welfare Organisation
Forever Friends Animal Rescue (FFAR) in Victoria has become an example of what responsible, long-term solar performance can look like, following the installation of a fully supported solar and storage system designed and maintained through a collaboration between Omnidian, GoodWe and AIKO. The project reflects a shared commitment to safety, accountability and ongoing system care.
Forever Friends Animal Rescue is a volunteer-run not-for-profit organisation providing rescue, rehabilitation and ongoing care for vulnerable animals across Victoria. Operating largely on donations and volunteer support, the organisation manages significant day-to-day energy demands associated with veterinary care, shelter operations and animal welfare facilities, making reliable and predictable power essential to its work.
The installation includes a 17kW solar system with AIKO high-efficiency N-type ABC panels, a GoodWe EHB hybrid inverter and a 19.2 kWh GoodWe Lynx battery. The system is paired with Omnidian’s proactive monitoring platform and annual on-site health checks, supporting early fault detection, stable operation and long-term reliability for the organisation.
The project forms part of a broader effort by solar manufacturers and service providers to support community organisations, while demonstrating how quality equipment and post-installation care can work together when responsibility is shared across the system lifecycle.
A Collaboration Built on Reliability and Long-Term Safety
AIKO, recently named the 2025 Solar Panel Brand of the Year by SolarQuotes, supplied its high-efficiency panels, selected for performance consistency and durability. GoodWe, celebrating its 15-year anniversary in 2025, provided the hybrid inverter and Lynx battery, offering integrated storage and dependable system control rooted in a long track record of engineering and innovation.
Omnidian will provide ongoing system oversight, including yearly on-site health checks, proactive monitoring and rapid service escalation, ensuring FFAR can rely on predictable, safe energy as it continues its rescue and rehabilitation work.

Quotes
Peter Matthews, VP Global Strategy at Omnidian, said:
“Corporate social responsibility is an important part of how we operate, particularly when it comes to supporting organisations that deliver real value to the community. Projects like this only work when strong partnerships are in place, from product selection through to long-term service and support. Working alongside GoodWe and Aiko allowed us to deliver not just equipment, but a complete solution that Forever Friends can rely on over the long term”.
Dean Williamson, Country Manager ANZ at GoodWe, said:
“Helping worthy and non-profit causes is something we’re really passionate about at GoodWe. When we heard about thew work Forever Friends do and the solar project spearheaded by Omnidian, we saw an incredible opportunity to support them and help to make a real difference. Wildlife carers do vital work, often behind the scenes and usually receive no government funding, and having access to solar energy will ease their financial strain while supporting conservation efforts.”
Thomas Bywater, Country Director, Australia, NZ & NC, said:
“AIKO aims to make the world’s best solar technology accessible to everyone, including not-for-profits like Forever Friends Animal Rescue who needs it most. Our ABC high-efficiency modules are engineered to deliver reliable, consistent power even under Australia’s harsh conditions, from extreme heat to dust accumulation, ensuring that critical community services can operate without interruption. By working alongside partners like Omnidian and GoodWe, we can create initiatives that not only advance clean energy adoption but also support the vital work being done in our communities and protect our environment for future generations.”
Saskia Adams, Founder of Forever Friends Animal Rescue, said:
“We are incredibly grateful for the donation of this system and assurance of long-term support. Energy costs are one of our biggest ongoing challenges and having a high-quality solar and storage solution in place will make a meaningful difference to our day-to-day operations. Knowing the system will be proactively monitored and checked each year gives us real confidence and peace of mind especially with so many vulnerable animals in our care. It is reassuring to work with organisations that genuinely care about both community and long-term outcomes.”
A Call to the Solar Industry
The partners are encouraging solar companies, distributors, installers and manufacturers across Australia to consider how their role in the community can extend beyond commercial transactions, particularly through meaningful, long-term contributions.
At times when community organisations are under increasing pressure, the role of the solar industry does not need to be limited to transactional projects alone. By pairing quality systems with long-term care and support, the industry has an opportunity to contribute in more practical and lasting ways to the communities it serves.
The message is simple: the industry is at its strongest when integrity, long-term care and accountability are treated as standard practice. This project offers a practical example of how solar can be delivered responsibly, with performance and support embedded from day one.
